Most creative/artistic types tend to spend large amounts of time in solitude, simply because their work cannot be done in the presence of an audience. It has nothing to do with being unsociable…on the contrary, we tend to be quite gregarious. We just don’t need to be constantly social in order to thrive. We actually thrive in solitude. We work best in solitude. We are at peace in solitude. Most times when we find ourselves in social situations, we are plotting our exit strategy…because our brains are cranking on more productive ways to spend our time. We socialize in small doses, and keep small circles.
